Ok, this episode is the best episode so far. I like how the characters are moving forward with their feelings, knowledge and establishing themselves in our hearts as lovable characters. While Choi Soo Hyun’s icy demeanor starts to melt in front of Go Hye Rim the more we get to know him, he also manages to creep into our hearts too. I am actually grateful to discover that our lovable heroine isn’t as dumb as she seems and Mr. Darcy isn’t as cold as he seems. He’s a marshmallow and near a fire like Hye Rim, marshmallows melt. So much happened romantically and plot-wise that I’m practically bouncing on my seat trying to contain my excitement. Shall we then?
We left off Soo Hyun with conflicted feelings as he wipes away sauce from Hye Rim’s mouth and Hye Rim takes that opportunity to pop chicken feet into his mouth. HA. Rewind and repeat. They go home and Soo Hyun walks her to her (and his, practically) door. He gives an awkward and adorable “I had fun today” and Hye Rim smiles. She says that she saw his genuine feelings today and I have to agree. This Soo Hyun is totally adorable. The little grasshopper learns.
Hye Rim shows the video she stole from Soo Hyun’s office to Chairman Kim wondering what Soo Hyun’s specialty in the stream of psychology is. Chairman Kim replies that it lies in a woman’s psychology and distinguishing features of a woman’s behavior and love. For a person who experiments on love Soo Hyun is mighty rude, right? This is the first time Hye Rim had heard about it.
Soo Hyun receives a testimonial from the girl from their first experiment. Awesome. I wonder how you will worm your way out of this one. Soo Hyun tells Ji Ho that they have paid for all expenses incurred and tells him not to worry. Their work is done and dusted. I know that’s gonna bite you in your ass one day.
Hye Rim, bless her heart, is starting to suspect Soo Hyun and his intentions for approaching her and asks for the documents related to her experiment. I hope for both their sakes she figures it out soon. He says since it is still an ongoing experiment he can’t show it to her, so she asks to see the contract which she has signed. Hesitatingly he gives it to her. She wonders why there is a clause in the contract saying that the subject of the experiment sometimes is kept in the dark regarding the experiment and she asks why. He lies about previous similar circumstances and she wonders why he gets defensive about it when she hasn’t even asked. Thank God our girl isn’t dim. Once she leaves, Soo Hyun types her curiosity in his documents. I swear those “notes” he keeps tying seems more and more like his diary.
Seung Chan goes to the interview to teach baseball to elementary students. The interviewers don’t seem much satisfied. Hye Rim waits for him to call and wanders whether he passed the interview or not. He calls her and asks her to come outside. She hesitatingly starts to ask whether he passed it and he hangs his head. When she starts to offer comforting words he grins at her “I got the job”. She is so happy that she runs to him and hugs him and after a small pause he returns the hug. Awww puppy, and here I was hoping he would not fall in love with her. Am I too late?
Soo Hyun sees the hug from his batcave and quickly turns around. Lol. Is he jealous? Seung Chan informs his brother that he is going to like Go Hye Rim for real and Soo Hyun asks to stop partaking in the experiment then. I love that Seung Chan uses reverse psychology on Soo Hyun and leaves him seething in the hallway. Now this bromance, I’m definitely going to love. Seung Chan 1 Soo Hyun 0.
The next morning a half dead Soo Hyun greets Hye Rim, who is busy teaching Seung Chan to make drip coffee. HA. Did he lose sleep over his brother making the moves on the girl he “likes”? That is so ironic. After a childish show of dick-measuring (Seung Chan: “Forget him and have a drink with me tonight. I found a great spot” Soo Hyun: “What kind of alcohol? I prepared 2004 Chateau Palmer” Seung Chan: “So immature. I prepared a 2016 Soju. Why?” HAHAHA), Hye Rim decides to meet a disheartened Soo Hyun at the fancy hotel they previously met at. Why is a disheartened Soo Hyun so cute?
He looks sad and heartbroken and smart Hye Rim can say that he is acting. Lol. Is it because he got 6% in the experiment? (Soo Hyun: “6%? What 6%? It’s 62%” LOL). He’s still hung up about that? Aww. That is so cute. She accidentally reveals that she distracted herself and suddenly he’s all happy and acting much more immature than he already is. HAHAwhoops.
They leave and Seung Chan calls Hye Rim asking whether his brother said something to her. (Soo Hyun sent Seung Chan a photo of them together. Haha.) Hye Rim hangs up on the puppy. While walking home, Hye Rim comments on the cold weather. Soo Hyun pulls her back and wraps her scarf around her neck (making her look like a cacooned butterfly). Then he pulls her into a hug. Omo. Already? Swoon.
Hye Rim looks out of sorts when he leaves her with a sweet smile. Awww Soo Hyun-ah, why do you do this to us? We can’t hate you anymore when you keep doing stuff like this…. Once he’s in the vehicle he grins to himself “Okay… Mission success”. Ok, he’s back to being an asshole.
Hye Rim sneaks back into his office that night with a torch and a huge bag and collects all the paper from the shredder into it. Wait, are you doing what I’m thinking you’re going to do?! That’s insane! Sure enough, by morning, the only three words Hye Rim has managed to find is “experiment”, “elementary” and “age six” (in Korean it is spelled as six age, so it could be twenty six age or thirty six age). Well, she’s practically searching for part of a needle in twenty haystacks.
It’s Yoo Rim’s birthday and Hye Rim has organized a birthday party. Yoo Rim asks to bring a friend with her. At the party, Yoo Rim does a love shot with her friend, Sung Oh (a.k.a Mr. Morally Righteous guy) , trying to make Won Ji Ho, who is smitten with Hye Rim, jealous. The clueless puppy doesn’t even bat an eyelash and intead asks to do a love shot with Hye Rim noona. Lol, this boy. Seung Chan hugs Ji Ho to do a love shot. LOL.
Hye Rim notices that Soo Hyun is not in the party and sees him seated outside. She offers him wine and he refuses saying that he can’t handle alcohol. She tells him that she will bring fruitjuice and pauses when she sees him act weirdly when a drop of wine falls on his hand. She sits back down and asks him why. He is quite direct when it comes to his backstory and I’m happy that there is a hero who doesn’t hide that from the heroine. That’s refreshing. He tells her that it is related to his bilogical mother, an amusement park and he seems deeply affected by it. Perhaps his mother brought him to the amusement park, bought him an ice cream and abandoned him there? That would be so sad.
Meanwhile Mr. Morally Righteous Guy keeps drinking more and more wine alone. He seems sad and alone but that doesn’t stop his drinking. When Yoo Rim and Ji Ho talk alone regarding Ji Ho’s puppy crush on her sister they hear a scream and the whole party pours in. Sung Oh starts shouting and acting so not like himself. He yells about hating lunch boxes and pushes away Yoo Rim who tries to reason with him. Seung Chan comes to her rescue and he pushes him away too and runs away from the café. Then he starts stripping his t-shirt and jumping on top of his own vehicle. Here we meet the next client.
The next morning the psychology team meets to discuss Sung Oh’s case and Soo Hyun asks Hye Rim to make Yoon Rim convince Sung Oh to come for couselling. Meanwhile, Yoo Rim wins second place in a video competition and asks them to let her trade her prize with the third prize: a drone. That’s what makes Ji Ho happy the next day as they fly the drone together. Yoo Rim’s totally smitten smile along with Ji Ho’s happy smile is totally killing me.
Hye Rim is asked to ask Sung Oh for drinks and Soo Hyun and Yoo Rim (with her camera) tags along. Some drinks later, Hye Rim and Sung Oh happily discuss the repercussions of drinking and Sung Oh tells that he has never prank called anyone. Soo Hyun is more than happy to offer his brother for the prank call. Seung Chan is busy showing off his abs showering but he answers Sung Oh’s call. Lol. Sung Oh has sucked on a helium gas balloon and is asking why he did so. Annoyed, Seung Chan asks whether he had asked him to suck on it. Does he think it’s Soo Hyun? LMAO. Soo Hyun 1 Seung Chan 0.
When asked how he felt, Sung Oh tells that he will tell it if only Soo Hyun would join him in his drinking. After exchanging an ‘oh shit face’ with Soo Hyun, Hye Rim volunteers to be his black knight but Sung Oh doesn’t take his ‘no’. Giving in, Soo Hyun gulps it down. I can’t wait for him to act like a complete fool. Hye Rim runs out from the bar to call Ji Ho and in the meantime Sung Ho starts stripping and Soo Hyun has fallen asleep. HA. When Sung Oh runs out and jumps over vehicles, Hye Rim runs after him and gets caught by the police.
Lol. Soo Hyun is having a mighty hangover in the morning and gets scolded by his brother. Seung Chan says that only three visitors are allowed to visit Hye Rim who is still in jail. Soo Hyun gets dressed and tells Seung Chan that someone has vandalized his scooter. Lol, it’s you, right? Sure enough, Soo Hyun tells Seung Chan to call the police and report him and when Seung Chan says no, he proceeds to beat in with a hammer.
Haha, Soo Hyun walks in like a bloody hero on morphine as the police take put him in the cell beside Hye Rim, who watches shocked. I love Soo Hyun’s “look what happened to me” look. He’s so adorable. And you got caught just to stay beside her? Swoon~
It’s official, I love this guy. Soo Hyun is going to be the death of me pretty soon.
Meanwhile, Soo Hyun’s professor (who has an adorable little crush on Seung Chan) comes across Seung Chan who is waiting for the tow truck, listening to classical music. He shares the iPod with the professor and says that he would like to listen to a woman play that song for him. So what does she do? She goes to learn piano music. That is some crush.
The two love jailbirds sit talking on either side of the cell. Soo Hyun suggests sleeping together (Hye Rim: “Excuse me?” Soo Hyun: “I-I I… I mean… Let’s lie down together” Cute). Hye Rim can’t sleep and Soo Hyun suggests something he uses on his patients. He asks to close her eyes and imagine a small cottage. We see Soo Hyun looking absolutely sexy lit a fire in a small cottage and cook a stew for Hye Rim. Aww. This looks so close to reality. She gives her the stew and she goes to sleep because she is full.
In the jail cell, Hye Rim has fallen asleep. Soo Hyun watches her for a while and reaches over to touch her cheek. Awwwwww.. You’ve fallen for her. He tells himself that this is just an experiment and retracts his hand. Aw. Hye Rim wakes up and takes her turn to watch him. She reaches out and touches his chin and takes back her hand. These two are so amazing for each other. I really hate the iron bars in between them right now. I wish there was an episode where the two would just stare at each other the whole day. The chemistry!
The next day they are back to their usual sniping selves and complains about each other snoring. Seung Chan comes to pick Hye Rim up in his scooter and leaves Soo Hyun seething. Seunng Chan 2 Soo Hyun 0. Clueless puppy Ji Ho writes Hye Rim a card, using his genius brain and writing a heart instead of drawing her one. I have the same expression Yoo Rim has (WTF?).
First experiment subject comes to the café and Hye Rim’s radar pings. Ji Ho gives the bad news to Soo Hyun, who still is calm and collected and asks Ji Ho to not let Hye Rim meet her. Aw shoot. The girl confronts Soo Hyun and soon enough with his motor mouth, Soo Hyun sends her off. Poor girl. Hye Rim sees her go and runs off to her vehicle (leaving puppy, who wanted to learn how to make coffee, a flimsy excuse of going to the toilet) and drops a paper in the windscreen “I have your video – Go Hye Rim”. The girls meet and Hye Rim puts two and two together. Heels bearing, she barges in his office and confronts him.
He deflects all her correct assumptions and even makes Ji Ho lie. He tells that he really likes her and so does Ji Ho. She can even ask Seung Chan, he would say the same thing. Ok. Soo Hyun, I love you. But you are seriously digging your own grave here. She tells him that she will never forgive him if he lied and that seems to hit Soo Hyun right where it hurts. She turns bavk after being assured that she is not being played (NO!) and she believes him (NO!). She smiles and goes away (NO!) and Soo Hyun sighs in relief.
Yes, I love Soo Hyun and he is seemingly growing feelings for her already, but what he did at last just made me want to pull my hair. He had a good chance to come all clean and he just fucked it up big time. And Ji Ho, you stupid little puppy. Go sit in a corner, you. I would take Soo Hyun and school him about what he did.
So far all interactions between the characters are amazing and electrifying. I love every moment our two leads spend with each other and the chemistry is sizzling enough. I have never seen two actors who would look at each other and not look anywhere else.
The sub characters are amazing enough and I’m just loving all of them. The daily clients are doing an amazing job. While our two puppies have already fallen for Hye Rim, I can’t wait for Soo Hyun to realize that he has fallen for her.
Also, how amazing is your jealousy, Soo Hyun-ah? It gives us tingles. And the swoons…
